These terms apply when you download, buy, or use Rubric (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. What Rubric does

Rubric is a macOS app for teachers. It lets you hover over a question in your class materials, such as a worksheet or quiz, press a shortcut, and see a suggested answer. Answers are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete, so check them before you rely on them.

The App is only for verified teachers. You need an activation code, which we email after confirming that you teach, and you must be an adult to use the App.

2. Your account and subscription

Some features need a paid subscription. Plans renew every month until you cancel. Each plan includes a set number of searches per billing period; unused searches don’t carry over. Prices and plan limits are shown on our website and may change, but changes won’t affect a period you’ve already paid for.

You can cancel anytime. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

3. Acceptable use

You’re responsible for how you use the App. In particular, you agree to:

Use the App only for your own teaching work, such as preparing classes and checking answers in your class materials, and follow your school’s or employer’s rules.
Not share your activation code or account with anyone else, including students.
Only capture content you have the right to use.
Not reverse engineer, resell, or share your subscription, or try to get around usage limits.
Not use the App for anything illegal or harmful.

We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.

4. Ownership

The App, its design, and its code belong to us. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the App. The content you capture stays yours.

5. No warranty

The App is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee that answers will be correct or that the App will always work without interruption.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, including mistakes in materials you prepared with the App or lost data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know through the App or our website. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the new terms.
